The biggest challenge...?
I found this today on godblog.co.uk...
What is the biggest challenge facing your church today?
General lack of commitment from parishioners...
[Lack of] focus on young people particularly teenagers...
Poor quality services...
Clergy/church leaders/elders out of touch with "real life" for most people...
No enough money to deliver plans...
Too much focus on managing the material not enough on spiritual...
I'm too busy firefighting to think about this question...

So what would your answers be??

"Focus on young people particularly teenagers..."
Is this asking us whether the problem is a focus on such persons, or whether focussing on such persons is a challenge, or...?
I'd be tempted to say that the biggest thing which needs to be challenged by the churches which I attend is complacency: a feeling that the journey of faith is now a case of resisting alterations to the status quo, rather than exploring dynamic new directions, and revisiting old ideas and methods.

Well, it's the former, I think! I've amended the post to make this clearer.
I agree wholeheartedly with what you say about complacency. Spot on!

I suspect that's very much the case, maybaby, for many people.
