"God" or "god"?

You might be interested in a blog which Professor David Crystal, an eminent linguist, wrote on whether religious words should be capitalized or not, and why.

Should we write "He" for God and Jesus? Or will "he" do? And "Christian" or "christian"?

This is about more than language use, because the way we use language communicates all sorts of assumptions we make in the background of our writing or speaking.

With apologies to George and Ira Gershwin: "I write 'Bible'; you write 'bible'; let's call the whole thing off..."
