PsalmSpace

The other Sunday evening we held a WorshipSpace service which focused on the use of the Psalms in worship and prayer. We called it "Bring Back the Psalms!". During the service, we invited participants to go off for fifteen minutes and begin to write their own psalm, bearing in mind that Psalms...

  • are address to God
  • tell it how it is.

One of our number wrote the psalm I've set out here, and agreed that I should post it on this site. I particularly appreciate it because it comes from a very busy, active person, and because it connects with a current, strong theme in our church life: finding space.

Here it is...

Space is where I meet God

Peace is what I find

Ask is what I often do

Cease is God’s reply

Everlasting grace He gives

For in His love He says

Only peace is in this place

Release your heaviness

God knows just how I feel

Others only guess

Do you want to find this peace?

Then find a SPACE FOR GOD
